A comprehensive, indispensable guidebook for anyone facing surgery!
Rosann Argenti beautifully interweaves her personal challenges diagnosing, preparing for, and recuperating from complex surgery into a practical, entertaining guidebook for anyone facing surgery, major or minor. Her touching (and often humorous!) experiences, coupled with superior credentials in tai chi, massage therapy, and creative physical development, have clearly fueled the creation of a unique recipe for a positive surgical experience (and result!) that includes everything from music and massage to exercise, nutrition, and positive thinking. Though the book underscores the importance of mental and physical preparation, critical information on legal, financial, and insurance preparation is also provided. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to be what she calls "an active participant" not only in their own surgery, but also their life! Regardless of whether you or a loved one is having surgery in the near or distant future, this book will inspire you to take charge of your own wellness!
Jennie Lascelle Famiglio, Esquire  Sarasota, Florida

Loads of info, wonderfully presented
I found the content of this book so informative, with a lot of excellent ideas for taking better care of oneself, even if you are not going in for an operation; it was easy to read and comprehend. I would definitely give this book as a gift; there is so much to learn from its content.

Everyone must have this book
I don't know what I would have done without this book. My daughter was going in for MAJOR surgery and I was scared! As it happens, I found this book, and what a lifesaver, for all of us! Ms. Argenti's story and information and all the beautifully explained details (everything from what to pack to how to get your bills paid) were invaluable to us. The questionnaires about what questions to ask your doctors and surgeons before, during and after surgery are worth the price of the book alone. She even has a living will you can copy and fill out in it! Everyone should have this simple, funny, well organized manual and story at their finger tips because we all know someone who may need hospital care or we ourselves may need to go through this life changing experience at sometime in our lives. It certainly helped save ours, in more ways than one!!!!
